Also, a nice side-effect is that I got quite a few friend requests, probably because people see my name in the list of legends, which is still rather short. But at least there is a fairly good chance. Of course there is no guarantee that this works every time, as it depends on the opponents and possibly tracks you get assigned. Loosing only one game left me with more than enough stars to gain legendary status, right from level 13. It might actually be a good idea to leave 5 minutes in-between each game, so that you have a chance to take back a track lost during the last few minutes of a game. It was impossible to fight at that time anyways, because collecting stars is a rather slow process and most games started with a delay of less than a minute. I ended up loosing a single game only and that happened in the last few minutes of the game. In addition, the win-streak bonus is reset and you’ll not gain the extra star for the next two games.
Therefore, when you loose a game, you loose a star instead of winning two. Through the win-streak bonus you gain an extra star for every game won after winning two games in a row. That is, because loosing a game essentially results in in a difference of five starts as compared to winning the game. However, I had a few extra golden tickets which I needed to win the one or two opponents that gave me a hard time. Everybody else might have beat me in a track at some point, but it generally wasn’t hard to win it back. In fact, only two or three opponents gave me a hard time. So I started 33 games at once and although I was a little worried that I would not be able to handle this many games, it turned out just fine. Moreover, the game assigns opponents which are classified at most two levels away from your own level. Therefore, most of my opponents were level 15 and only around five had a better classification than myself. With that, I had a good chance at winning most games, without fighting hard. The reason being that there are lots of potential opponents at level 15 as no stars are removed at that level when loosing a game. 13 turned out to be the perfect level to start my mission.

I was at level 13 at the time, which means that I needed 55 stars to become a legend (3 stars for each level up to 11, then 4 stars for each level up to 6 and 5 stars for each level up to 1, plus 1 star to become legend).

So, 300 golden tickets would allow me to start 33 games at once, three for free and another 30 using tickets.
There are tons of people asking to being added. To get more friends, just check the discussion forums. After about eight days into the season, I had collected 300 golden tickets, from the slot machine and around 50 or so friends. I started collecting golden tickets towards the end of the previous season, only doing the three free games per day. I told myself that with enough golden tickets it should be possible to bypass all the hard high-level fights and become a legend in a single day. I gained legendary status straight from level 13, one in only 15 at the time. This season, I decided to change my strategy which worked out really well. I would always hover around level four, win a few games and loose a few games.
That’s at least what I conclude from the fact that during the past two seasons I didn’t manage to become a legend.
